Introduction

USB Loader GX is the most popular backup loader for the Wii. It allows you to play games from a USB drive or hard drive with a custom interface, cover flow, and more.

Requirements

  • A Wii with Homebrew Channel installed
  • USB Drive or External Hard Drive formatted to FAT32 or NTFS
  • SD Card (for homebrew apps)
  • A computer (Windows or Mac)
Recommendation: An External Hard Drive (HDD) is highly recommended for reliability. You can use a USB Flash Drive, but they can be less stable with Wii/Wii U.

Step 1: Download Required Files

Download the USB Loader GX package from one of the links below. This pack includes the necessary cIOS installers.

Step 2: Install cIOS

Important: Before using USB Loader GX, you must install cIOS (Custom IOS). The download pack above includes the d2x cIOS Installer.
1. Copy the apps folder to your SD card.
2. Launch 'd2x cIOS Installer' from Homebrew Channel.
3. Follow the video guide above for the exact cIOS slot configuration (usually v10 beta52 into slots 249 and 250).

Step 3: Transfer Games

You can manage your Wii backups using the tools below. Use Wii Backup Manager for Windows or Witgui for Mac to convert ISOs to WBFS format and transfer them correctly.
